10/22/2023 0 Comments Eighth note and eighth restThe interlocking accents add just enough syncopation to keep rhythmic interest for several minutes. This structure is often set against a 4-beat measure in an interlocking manner (but different from a 4 against 3 sound.) This structure is extremely common in tango music and is used in cha-cha-chas and rumbas also (and in American style bolero music.) Division of 8 beats (or half-beats) into 3+3+2 against a 4/4 background works well even over long time spans (like a minute or so.) The combination of 4/4 (four quarter notes) vs 3+3+2 (two dotted quarters +quarter) can be set nicely against a clave rhythm (either son or rumba clave). The other measure sounds more like a 3+3+2 additive measure than a division of 4 or 8 beats into 2 or 4 (or 3 in the question). ![]() (As mentioned in other answers) the triplet sounds like a smooth 3-beat bar because it's written as a triplet (rather than as a 3/4 measure with a slightly slower tempo), this structure is useful as a contrast to a piece written in 4/4 with a 4-beat bar (or 2-2 with a 2-beat bar.) I, personally, love this "slowing down" effect and use quite often. It's quite common to have a part of the piece that has triplets all the time, so the composer would add the dotted eighth to create a small difference in this specific passage, or vice versa, when a piece has a lot of sixteenth notes, adding quarter triplets might feel like the piece is "slowing down". ![]() It would also depend on how the rest of the piece (or part of the piece) goes. For me, the triplets have a more laid back feeling and the dotted eighth has a more sharp feeling. If played correctly, they have a different feeling and the choice depends on what the composer wants to do. Now as far as which one to choose, it would be totally up to the composer. The difference isn't that big, and an amateur player might not be able to hear/play it, but it is there and it is important. ![]() This is because in the case of the triplets, you divide the beat by 3 (and play the first and third note), whereas in the case of the dotted eighth, you divide the beat by 4 (and play the first and fourth note). The following are the exact same rhythms you posted, but each one is divided into smaller values and they are placed on top of each other to make the comparison easier.Īs you can easily see, the two notes you said don't fall at the same beat. 10/22/2023 0 Comments Ff12 electrum![]() ![]() To complement the stater, fractions were made: the trite (third), the hekte (sixth), and so forth, including 1/24 of a stater, and even down to 1/48th and 1/96th of a stater. A stater was about one month's pay for a soldier. In Lydia, 14.1 grams of electrum was made into one stater (meaning "Standard"). ![]() The discrepancy between gold content of electrum from modern Western Anatolia (70-90%) and ancient Lydian coinage (45-55%) suggests that the Lydians had already solved the refining technology for silver and were adding Ag to the local native electrum some decades before introducing the pure silver coins cited below. The modern use of the term white gold usually concerns gold, silver and palladium alloys.Įlectrum is mentioned in an expedition sent by Pharaoh Sahure of the Fifth dynasty of Egypt).Įlectrum is believed to have been used in coins circa 600 BC in Lydia under the reign of Alyattes II.Įlectrum was much better for coinage than gold, mostly because it was harder and more durable, but also because techniques for refining gold were not widespread at the time. Electrum was often referred to as white gold in ancient times but could be more accurately described as "pale gold". The same word was also used for the substance amber, probably because of the pale yellow color of certain varieties, and it is from the electrostatic properties of amber that the modern English words "electron" and "electricity" derive. The color of electrum is pale yellow or yellowish-white and the name is a Latinized form of the Greek word (elektron) mentioned in the Odyssey meaning a metallic substance consisting of gold alloyed with silver. In later coinage from these areas, dating to 326 BC, the gold composition averaged 40% to 41%. In the early classical period, the gold composition of electrum ranged from 46% in Phokaia to 43% in Mytilene. Analysis of the electrum composition in ancient Greek coinage dating from 600 BC showed that the gold composition was 55.5% in archaic Phocaea. As a result, electrum is usually a good conductor of electricity. Electrum was also used in the making of ancient drinking vessels and coins.Īllegedly electrum was used in the breastplates of the Urim and Thummim of the priests combined with specific stones/tones.Įlectrum consists primarily of gold and silver but is sometimes found with traces of copper and other metals. Gold content of naturally-occurring electrum in modern Western Anatolia ranges from 70% to 90% in contrast to the 45-55% of electrum used in ancient Lydian coinage of the same geographical area.Įlectrum was used as early as the third millennium BC in Old Kingdom Egypt, sometimes as an exterior coating to the pyramidions atop ancient Egyptian pyramids and obelisks. Color ranges from pale to bright yellow, depending on the proportions of gold and silver. The element metal plays an important role in Chinese Astrology and feng shui, the Chinese form of geomancy.Įlectrum is a naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver, with trace amounts of copper and other metals. The metal person is forceful and set in their ways as metal is very strong, but they are self-reliant and enjoy the good things in life. Other qualities associated with metal are unyieldingness, persistence, strength and determination. It is associated with organization and stability. Metal is associated with the west and autumn, the planet Venus and the color white. The archetypal metals are silver and gold. Metal, or gold, is one of the five elements of Chinese alchemy. Metals are chemical elements that readily conduct electricity and heat, form cations and bonds ionically. Psychometry works best with metal objects. What are the stones? What is the metal? Check out what they physically do to enhance your energies. Notice the jewelry you wear on a regular basis. In the same way we chose a crystal, we chose the stones needed to amplify our energies. When someone dies, say a mother, the child will wear her jewelry to connect with her frequency, all we are is frequency, and get power from that object. They are often linked with the chakra system. This can helps us connect with the other side, brings us energies and balances us. Both metal and stones, or crystals, pick up human frequencies and become conductors and amplifiers of energy. Jewelry is more than sentimental attachment, is serves more than one function. Many people chose the jewelry they wear based not only on the metal, (alchemy of consciousness), but on the stones as well. Metals and stones resonant to different harmonic frequencies, which we may not be consciously aware. 10/22/2023 0 Comments Downy unstopables teacher actressWho plays Josh and the Downy Wrinkle Guard commercial?ĭowny’s new commercial starring coach Jim Harbaugh scores big laughs depicting a specially appointed assistant tasked with keeping Coach’s khakis wrinkle free. I have over 120 games on Steam and never ever in the history of my account with Steam have I ever had a game that will not start. I have heard this all before one guy wrote in another thread that he never had any problems then I find him on another thread saying to someone that he has a lot of issues with the game. Go to the official forums and seek help there, you'll get much better advice then on the steam boards. The game itself is not garbage if the problem is user error, an error which most people don't have. Whats the problme here I get the same thing.
